A story of answered prayer
Patience is the unpopular part of prayer. The child of God who obediently and hopefully asks, seeks and knocks must also wait. In some cases the wait is long. At other times our wait is so short we miss His answer. But what a blessing it is to have a response from the Lord’s heart, and to be able to recognize it. In each issue of this new, one-page sheet, IMPRINT, the Global Prayer Movement will be passing along one more good story of prayers answered by our great God.
Prayer is more than foundational. Prayer is more than central. And it is certainly much more than a mathematical formula. Communicating directly with the living God is in the very DNA, so to speak, of everything Christ’s followers are, and do. For true believers prayer is intrinsic to being Christian and living out a unique role in the body of Christ. With that self-reminder, the Global Prayer Movement begins to offer a series of one-sheet articles on INTRINSIC prayer.
Today’s followers of Jesus Christ are hearing a lot about the values of journaling. Portions of George Washington’s personal prayer journal are available online. How many products does Amazon.com now offer that encourage us to explore and recognize the work of God in our lives…by capturing each day’s experiences in a journal, a spiritual diary. Certainly one of the Bible’s chief themes is for his people to be careful to remember what God is like and what He has done (Psalm 77:11). A journal is a good place to record the Lord’s answers to our prayers. A journal can help us grow. And it can deepen the roots of spiritual movements everywhere!
